Bennett Woods
Elementary is one of the top rated elementary schools in mid-Michigan
with nationally recognized physical facilities and spectacular
outdoor views. The school has an art room overlooking a garden
courtyard, innovative classrooms, a well-equipped computer lab, media
center, full size gym, two soccer fields, a paved play area and a picnic
area where students may eat lunch on nice days. Bennett Woods'
350 students range from the school's unique Begindergarten (young
fives) program to fifth grade. Support staff, teachers and specialists
work closely with each other and parents to ensure the success
of their students. Parents play a large role in student life with
volunteering, chaperoning and enrichment activities. A partnership
with the Okemos-Haslett Masonic Lodge allows for retired community
members to provide classroom help for students and staff as well.
